We're Good to GoWe run Regular Trips on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from Easter to the end of November. Trips depart at 2 pm.

Every Wednesday, selected Saturdays and selected Sundays, experience travelling through the Bradford Lock and cruise to the historic Grade II listed Avoncliff Aqueduct.

On selected Sundays we run an afternoon trip either through tree-lined woodland to Hilperton (lasting 2½ hours) or a shorter trip, lasting around 90 minutes, either past Bradford Marina and Widbrook Wood to the Widbrook winding hole, or down the Bradford Lock, past the Tithe Barn, to the Meadows Bridge “winding hole” where the boat will turn. These shorter trips are specially suitable for younger children.

We also run a number of mid-week shorter canal trips to Meadow’s Bridge.

These Barbara McLellan boat trips have been featured by Visit Wiltshire as one of their Top 15 “Things To Do”.  Click here for more details.

Your table(s) will be just for your group – no one else will sit with you.

Boarding starts 20 minutes before departure. See a map of the boat’s location here.

The nearest car park is Baileys Barn (just 100 metres away from the boat).

Covid Security

We confirm we have complied with the government’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19

  • We have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and shared the results with our crew.
  • We have cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in line with guidance
  • We have taken all reasonable steps to help people work from home
  • We have taken all reasonable steps to maintain a 2m distance in the boat
  • Where people cannot keep 2m apart we have ensured at least a 1m distance and taken all the mitigating actions possible to manage transmission risk

To protect all our passengers and boat crew, we are still implementing a number of COVID-safe protocols.  For example, we are limiting bookings to 5 tables each of up to 4 people (half our pre-COVID capacity), you will need a face mask for boarding, and bar payments should ideally be made by contactless payment card.  We are also still asking passengers to remain seated, except when going out (one table at a time and under direction from crew) onto the bow area, rather than walking around the boat. The crew may impose additional restrictions on the day if necessary. We apologise for the inconvenience and hope you understand what we trying to achieve.

Whilst we are planning a full programme of trips in 2021 we cannot guarantee that every trip will run while we are under Covid restrictions. You can book with confidence that, if we cancel a trip for any reason, you will receive a full refund of your money – automatically!

You can book any of our trips on our dedicated bookings site at
